The nuns of the convent having completed their work, Marian was delivered to the town prison to serve the remaining two months of her sentance. The Reverend Mother left instructions with the jailers that Marian was to be whipped once a week, except for her final week, during her incarceration as a reminder to her that the powers of the Convent reached far beyone it's walls. The jailers carried out the request with relish.
